How To Cook Pork Asado (Asadong Baboy)

Asado in Spanish (a’saðo) means grilled meat. In the Philippines asado means sweet and salty braised marinated pork.

1 kilo pork
¼ teaspoon pepper
¼ teaspoon salt
2 cups soy sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 cloves garlic minced
1 piece bay leaf
2 cups water


In a Large bowl combine soy sauce, garlic, salt and pepper
Add the pork in the mixture and marinade for at least 1 hour
In a medium pan/wok place the pork and mixture
Add water bay leaf, sugar and star anise let it boil for 40 minutes
Wait until the sauce is reduced and thicken

      Adobo is a main dish in Philippines compose of soy sauce, pepper, bay leaf and meat( chicken or pork). Serve with rice..
      Asado is a type of Siopao( bread with meat inside) that is originated in China and adopted in the Philippines..
