Hakka Style Pork Stuffed Tofu Recipe

Hakka (客家) people are Han Chinese located at the southern Guangdong Province in China. Hakka people claims to be the originators of this recipe which consists of tofu cubes heaped with minced meat.

Chinese Cuisine, Hakka Style Pork Stuffed Tofu


Firm Tofu
4 oz round pork
1 teaspoon minced ginger
1 teaspoon minced garlic
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon corn starch
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce

Pork Stuffed Tofu Preparation:

Chop ground pork
Add minced ginger and garlic
Add salt and pepper to taste
Mix the meat well
Cut tofu into cubes
Stuff the meat in the tofu cubes
Steam the pork stuffed tofu into 20 minutes

Sauce Preparation:

Mix 1 tablespoon of water and cornstarch and set aside
In a medium sized pan pour in the oyster sauce and soy sauce let it simmer for 15 minutes
stir until thick
